We must admit to being quite intrigued when we first set eyes on this cardboard horse, designed by Alex Hellum for Dutch company Kidsonroof, and stocked here in the UK by The Kid Who. Is it a toy? Or is it a decorative object for their room? The simple fact is, it's anything your child wants it to be. Made from recycled cardboard, the horse comes with its very own little cardboard baby horse. It's a simple but beautiful shape, sturdy and strong yet due to its material, lightweight enough for a child to move around, with a magical tinkle that sounds from the inside of the horse when picked up (hence the name). The big horse measures 25 x 38 x 12cm, and is recommended for ages 2 and over (although we have photographic evidence that littler ones would love it too): And older children will enjoy putting their very own creative stamp on it, then proudly displaying it in their bedrooms. You might remember our previous post about a Kidsonroof product - the cardboard playhouse from their Casa collection (also stocked by The Kid Who). Their products don't cost the earth, but are designed with so much thoughtful originality and play value. As for the trojan horse, it is just that. A playful, magical object for children to personalise, love and play with. And for £20, that's a whole lot of riding/decorating/colouring-in/cuddling fun.
