We were excited to discover talented children's illustrator and story-writer Ekaterina Trukhan recently, especially when she showed us these adorable 'Autumn Story' prints, each one telling its very own tale and celebrating everything we love about the season. The first design, 'Autumn Story - Bicycle' features a rosy-cheeked little character in a bright woolly scarf, bobble hat and black boots cycling her way back home through the park away from the multi-coloured cars and buses of the big city. The second, 'Autumn Story - Birds' shows the same character in the woods surrounded by birds, rabbits, squirrels and a fox. I think what we love most about them (apart from their whimsical illustrative style), are the gorgeous autumnal colours - simple, smart cream ground printed with tomato red, rusty orange and grey. And then there's the 'In the Park' print (pictured below) - every bit as lovely and detailed. Featuring a set of characters in fabulous outfits (we're loving the red and orange harlequin tank top and dicky bow, not to mention the co-ordinating shopping bag and earrings - heh even the dog's jumper matches its owner's!), this is a print to appeal to all ages, and will look stunning in any room of the house: The prints measure 29.7 x 42cm each and are sold unframed, at £25 each. The quality is beautiful - smooth, heavyweight paper to really show off the vivid colours. So next time you find yourself yearning for spring, have a look at these. They'll take you back to the time when collecting autumn leaves was every bit as exciting as strawberry-picking in the summer. And as a child, autumn can only mean one thing - Christmas is just around the corner.
