These fun, cuddly sausage dogs from Devon-based designer Jane Foster, £18, not only make great pets for your little one, but they teach them their ABCs at the same time! Measuring approximately 30cm long and screen-printed in the UK using water-based, child-safe inks on a fresh white cotton base, they are available in bright red or blue - and sit as nicely on the bed as they do scattered on the sofa. And they're machine washable, too! Jane lives in Devon with her partner and her young daughter, who was the inspiration behind the cushions when she was learning the alphabet. If you check out her website, you'll see that she is strongly influenced by Scandinavian design, in particular the bold, bright and simple fabric and ceramic patterns from the 50s and 60s (think Marimekko...) And her modern, eco home is filled with retro furniture treasures from this period! And her aim? "To create bold, simple and happy designs which appeal to children and adults alike". Well, if these lovely little dogs are anything to go by, we think she has more than succeeded.
