When super-talented British designer Helen Gordon first showed us her beautiful collection of organic cotton fairytale baby blankets, we were incredibly excited. And when she offered to send us Hansel and Gretel to try out in our very own nursery at home, how could we resist? One thing's for sure - we certainly weren't disappointed. The blanket is amazingly soft, with a gorgeous repeat print on a cream base featuring icons from the famous fairytale story, including the gingerbread house, trees and toadstools, squirrels and hedgehogs, birds and rabbits, and of course, Hansel and Gretel themselves. The reverse is plain red, and a lovely contrast to the patterned front. It also has a practical loop on one corner so you can hang it up easily or attach it to the pram to prevent it falling off. And so here it is, photographed in situ. We can't wait to show it off properly when Baby 2 makes an appearance in the next few weeks! Helen Gordon is a designer, product developer and mum, who takes inspiration from her own children and her love of vintage story books, illustrations and Scandinavian folk patterns. In addition to the baby blankets, she has created adorable printed baby and children's clothing (just check out the irresistible babygrows and hats...), interior accessories such as wallpaper, cushions and lamp shades, and stationery products. All of her products are made in the UK, using only ethical or organic sources. As well as the Hansel and Gretel design, her baby blanket collection also includes 3 Little Pigs, The Reluctant Dragon and Mushroom Forest, each one as beautiful as the other with illustrated, printed front and plain reverse in a range of sophisticated colours. In fact the 3 Little Pigs design is so popular she is currently having to make more of them - but worry not, they'll be back in stock very soon.
