We were excited to receive a very special package in the post recently from our friends at Project Jelly - a stunningly smart pair of navy and lime jelly shoes for our little boy to try out and test this summer. Jasper started toddling a couple of months ago, and being as energetic and adventurous as he is, we really needed something for him to wear whilst splashing around outside in his sand and water pit and exploring the nooks and crannies of our back garden. And we have to say, his 'neon rocket' jelly shoes are perfect! Waterproof, washable, soft and flexible, allowing plenty of air to his feet whilst protecting his little toes - and did we mention stylish too? A fabulous colour combination that looks - well - pretty amazing. Those of you that follow Bobby Rabbit regularly may be wondering why we are featuring a shoe brand… Well, if you receive our newsletter you may know a little about this very special company already. Natalie approached us a while back to tell us all about Project Jelly, and we fell in love instantly - both with the fabulous product range as well as the story behind it. Project Jelly not only sell British-made children's shoes, manufactured by the original jelly shoe manufacturer JuJu Footwear (thereby supporting British manufacture and production too - yippee!), but a whopping 25% of all their profits go to Mencap, a charity that supports people with learning disabilities, as well as their families and carers. The shoes come in a gorgeous range of bright and contrasting summery colours, with names delicious enough to eat (including 'Bubblegum All-Star' - pictured above and 'Orange Sherbet' and 'Strawberry Sundae' - below) and are available in sizes 4-12 Junior: Pictured above, clockwise from top centre: Neon Rocket (shiny navy and lime) Orange Sherbet (sunny orange and yellow) Bubblegum Allstar (dreamy aqua and pink) Raspberry Mivi (sparkly and glittery pink) Watermelon Rocks (retro red and lime) Strawberry Sundae (fluro pink and mint) They normally cost £17.95 a pair - but we're teaming up with Project Jelly to offer 2 lucky readers and their little ones their very own pair! Simply leave us a comment below stating which colour is your favourite before 1pm on Friday 11th July, and we'll select the 2 winners at random and announce their names right here (we're sorry, UK residents only). So, to answer the magic question, why are they on Bobby Rabbit? Well, room accessories or toys they most certainly aren't, but gifts they most definitely are, and with such a special story behind them too, take our word for it, they're a pretty perfect present for any little explorer this summer. Project Jelly shoes are available in their on-line shop, and at the lovely Sisters Guild children's design store.
