The marshmallow snowmen we made for our daughter's 4th birthday party a couple of weeks ago got us feeling all festive, so we set off on a little Pinterest journey (our current favourite type of journey!) to find some more quick-and-easy-to-make ideas for the holiday season. And since it's our last blog post today before taking a break for a couple of weeks - as well as being the weekend and the start of the Christmas school holidays - we thought we'd share our favourite five, all of them perfect and lots of fun for little baking helpers over the next couple of weeks. First up are these fab reindeer cookies, pictured above, which we tried and tested ourselves just last week using a regular cookie mix, some chocolate icing and the all-important red smarties! The verdict? Super easy to make with plenty of cookie dough left over (although the same can't be said for the chocolate icing and the red smarties…) Next are these amazing looking chocolate brownie Santa hats. A delicious winter take on the very English strawberries and cream tradition, these are made from baked brownie mix cut into small circles, followed by the addition of strawberries and vanilla buttercream. YUM! These *adorable* gingerbread polar bear cookies caught our eye (and our taste buds) as soon as we saw them…. And it's all in the icing, apparently! We love that you can give them as much character as you like - and little ones will enjoy decorating their faces too. And just how scrumptious are these Christmas tree cupcakes? Almost - just almost - too good to eat! The recipe may be in Spanish, but you can make your own version using a regular chocolate cupcake recipe, a portion of coloured buttercream and simple white or ivory pearl and star decorations from your local supermarket or bakery store. And finally, here's a slightly bigger treat we made ourselves earlier today (having seen this image on Pinterest). Really easy to re-create, this Snowman Cake is almost too cute to cut into! Our little girl had lots of fun with her play dough shredder making the bobble for the hat and making sure the carrot nose was just right (not to mention rolling/tasting all the marzipan and icing too...) So with this, our last post before the holidays, we'd like to take this opportunity to say a huge big thank you for reading and supporting Bobby Rabbit and helping us grow month on month this year - after all, a blog isn't a blog without it's lovely readers. We'll be back in a couple of weeks with lots more little treasures and a whole host of new ideas to keep you and your kids inspired. 2015 is going to be an exciting year for Bobby Rabbit, and we really hope it will be for you too. Merry Christmas! x
