…there was a brand new magazine, packed full of traditional fairy tales, famous fables and classic poems as well as fun and engaging puzzles and activities for children. We were lucky enough to receive a couple of copies of Storytime in the post last week (and have been enjoying them together at bed time ever since!) From Pinocchio to Treasure Island; The Magic Porridge Pot to Rapunzel, as well as a whole host of other well known stories from all over the globe that will take you right back to your own childhood, each issue contains a special mix of tales 'to read, love and share' together with fun activities, thought-provoking tasks and puzzles and creative activities that will inspire even the youngest of imaginations.
Accompanying each story and activity are some of the most beautiful illustrations we have seen - brightly colourful with a wonderfully classic and retro twist, created especially for Storytime by a hand-picked selection of talented artists and illustrators: The magazine was designed together with children's literacy expert Jacqueline Harris with the aim of encouraging a love of reading within children of all ages. And we have to say, they have done a pretty good job.
Not only are the stories wonderfully told - the perfect length for sharing together at bedtime and the ideal length for older children to read alone - but each and every magazine is so beautifully put together and finished, having been printed on to matt, high quality paper that is FSC certified using only trees from a specially managed forest.
Our little girl (4) is mesmorised, and can not wait to receive her 'very own post' (and we have to say, we're pretty excited for the next issue too!)
